The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Library is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Museum Shop is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Easter,
July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Adults: $5/person

Seniors (65+): $4/person

Students/Children 6-17: $2.50/person

Directions  

To the History Center:

FROM NORTH of West Chester and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 23 to Route 100 South. Take the Pottstown Pike exit, which will become North High Street. The History Center is on the 200 block of North High Street on the left when heading South.

FROM SOUTH of West Chester follow the signs to Route 202 North until you come to the West Chester Holiday Inn. Continue straight instead of following Route 202 to the right, you will now be traveling on South High Street headed North. Continue through the borough and cross Market Street. You are now travelling on North High Street. The History Center is on the 200 block of North High Street on the right when heading North.

FROM EAST of West Chester follow Route 3 to the Borough of West Chester. The road will bear to the right and deliver you to East Gay Street. Follow East Gay Street through West Chester until you intersect North High Street. Turn right on to North High. The History Center is on the 200 block of North High Street on the right when heading North.

FROM WEST of West Chester follow Route 30 to Route 100, Exton. Take Route 100 South Take Pottstown Pike exist, which will become North High Street upon entering the Borough of West Chester. The History Center is on the 200 block of North High Street on the left when heading South.

To the Archives:

The Archives is located one mile from the Borough of West Chester on Westtown Road just off Route 202. Follow the directions below to get to the Archives, located in the Government Services Center.

FROM NORTH of West Chester and the Pennsylvania Turnpike take Exit 23 to Route 100 South. Follow the signs to Route 202 South. Take the Westtown Road exit, turn right. The Government Services Center is the first building on the right.

FROM SOUTH of West Chester follow the signs to Route 202 North. Exit onto the Route 202 Bypass and take the Westtown Road exit, turn left. The Government Services Center is the first building on the right.

FROM EAST of West Chester follow Route 3 to Route 202. Take Route 202 South to the Westtown Road exit, turn left. The Government Services Center is the first building on the right.  

FROM WEST of West Chester follow Route 30 to Route 100, Exton. Take Route 100 South. Follow the signs to Route 202 South. Take the Westtown Road exit, turn right. The Government Services Center is the first building on the right. 

Parking

A public parking garage is located immediately across the street from the History Center on Chestnut Street. Metered on-street parking is also available on High Street.

Barrier Free Access

Barrier-free access is available throughout the History Center. A ramp for individuals requiring wheelchairs is located on High Street at the front of the History Center.
